Another frustrating week for the players and volunteers at Swaffham Town FC.
The bitter weather put paid to the Christmas Bank Holiday fixture at rivals Fakenham.
The players did manage to train mid-week, a further outing to Lynnsport’s 3G turf facility, a chance to work off the turkey and Christmas pudding!
The freeze and festive coughs and colds also restricted the planned maintenance jobs at the club, thankfully the thaw at the latter part of the week allowing some preparation of the pitch.
Bank Holiday Monday sees the Pedlars welcome Gorleston to Shoemakers Lane.
Originally planned as a Ridgeons League fixture, it has been re-scheduled as the previously postponed First Division Cup quarter-final, kick-off 3pm.
Thursday evening the Under 18’s entertain Soham Town Rangers for their return League match, looking to deny Soham the double, kick-off 7.45pm.
On Saturday January 8, Swaffham first team is at home to Cornard United (ko 3pm) for what promises to be an exciting game, both teams struggling to add points to the table and hungry for goals.
The Reserves do not have a fixture this Saturday, the ‘A’ Team travel to Dereham Town ‘A’ for their second round clash in the Sound & Vision Junior League Cup, ko 1.45pm.
