A discount furniture store has announced it will be closing down.

QD Furniture Store in Swaffham will be closing this weekend after just over two years in the town. 

The budget chain opened the store in Market Place in 2021 and sells bedroom and living room furnishings as well as kitchenware and garden equipment. 

Karl Ottolangui, QD group operations director, said: "We have taken the decision to close the small QD Furniture Store in Swaffham this weekend.

"However, the main QD store in the town is very much still open and continuing to trade.

"All the items that were sold from the furniture store are available to order for home delivery at our main store in London Street, as well as in many of our other stores and online.

"Unfortunately, there have been two part time roles that were made redundant as a result of the closure, which is always sad.

"However, we have recently been investing in high street locations and we are actively looking at new store openings in Norfolk and elsewhere for 2024."
