With summer here, many flock to Norfolk's historic tourist spots, but this village may sway some visitors as one of the county's best hidden gems.
With droves of holidaygoers heading to the Broads or the north Norfolk coast, this quaint village on the edge of the Brecks offers a great alternative.
West Acre sits outside King's Lynn and lies on the Nar Valley Way, despite its smaller size it is teeming with great places to go.
Duration Brewing
The village is home to Duration Brewing and its taproom offering one of the best pints in the county.
Founded in 2017, the brewery is based in the ruins of an old priory by the banks of a chalk river.
The taproom is open every Saturday and Sunday throughout summer but its kiosk is open every day for takeaway and merch.
The Stag Inn
For people wanting a cosy pub, The Stag Inn is a great option and serves locally brewed beer and a wide selection of food.
The pub was recently renovated with an updated bar area, colourful furniture and graffiti-clad walls.
It hosts a folk night on the first Tuesday of every month and a pub quiz on the third Tuesday.
Theatre and gallery
The West Acre Theatre Company puts on several productions and launched its summer season "Live by the Lake" with the sixties musical A Slice of Saturday Night.
In August, the company will go back to Dickensian London in a stage version of Mark Evan’s award-winning BBC Radio 4 comedy series Bleak Expectations.
The local gallery also puts on exhibitions with Abbey Stirling's "New Earth" arriving on August 17 until September 8.
West Acre Estate
The nearby estate is one of the region's most popular destinations for a trip to the great outdoors, attracting walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers.
The estate has several footpaths and trails that meander around the scenic countryside.
In January the estate began its rewilding project to create a mosaic of woodland pasture along the River Nar.
Hundreds of small ponds will also be reinstated along with woodland and wetland habitats
