She's not a scammer, she only wants to make Christmas better.

A mother-of-three is getting into the spirit of giving once more with an appeal for donations to her Christmas hamper initiative.

Jenna Deacon, who lives in Watton and runs Nails at No.8, started the initiative with her children last year to deliver handmade hampers to the elderly over Christmas.

The family's initiative involves people nominating those who are not visited frequently throughout the year to Miss Deacon.

She and her children then make hampers for the nominees themselves and deliver them to their doorstep or care home.

Last year, the entourage spent December 22 and 23 delivering 35 hampers across Watton and this year, they are especially excited to do it all again.

However, Miss Deacon is cautious of scammers out there taking advantage of the elderly over the festive period and wants others to be aware the pledge is well-intending.

She said: "Last year, people were worried about our motivation and with scammers out there, I understand their concerns.

"People who want to nominate someone are very welcome to meet us at the address they've nominated as well and make sure the delivery goes smoothly."

Miss Deacon is asking for donations of non-perishable items, which can be delivered to her business or in their trolley at the town's Tesco.

She said: "We're looking for those Christmassy luxuries that people buy over the festive season like mince pieces, chocolates or nuts."

This could also become a Christmas tradition for the family with Miss Deacon's children eager to spread kindness during a time that is challenging for some.
