A care home nurse who plotted false sex allegations against a whistleblowing colleague has hit out at the investigation which exposed her scheme.

Ruxandra Sarbut, 36, was struck off from the nursing profession following an investigation into her conduct while working at Buckingham Lodge in Carbrooke.

Management of the home, which is run by Kingsley Healthcare, reported her to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) following allegations that she was abusive towards its residents.

And this investigation exposed a plot she had made to falsely accuse a colleague she suspected of reporting her of sexual assault.

Following the NMC referral, a misconduct hearing was held and she was struck off from the nursing profession.

But Miss Sarbut, who lost her job at the home following the probe, has dismissed the NMC's process as "unfair".

Speaking to the Mail, she said: "From my point of view, it was unfair.

"Fortunately, I have a partner who has backed me up.

"I have been through some rough moments in my life because of this. I was suicidal at one point."

She told the national newspaper she has since been working night shifts in the agricultural industry.

A spokesman for Kingsley Healthcare said: "We are satisfied that the right outcome has been reached, thanks to our robust investigation and the reporting of its conclusions to the NMC."

The investigation related to incidents which occurred between November 2022 and February 2023 - with Miss Sarbut not having worked at the home since these dates.

Details of her plot was exposed after Miss Sarbut learned that reports about her conduct had been made to the home's management.

She was said to then have told a co-worker that she suspected a male colleague had made the reports against her and that she would counterclaim to management that he had touched her inappropriately.
