A depleted Swaffham Town side picked a well deserved Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division point at the weekend after drawing 2-2 with Whitton United at Shoemakers Lane.
Struggling with injuries and work commitments, Swaffham took the lead with six minutes of the first half remaining, Matthew Prudence setting up Tommy Hunt for the shot, a perfect strike from 18 yards which flew into the top right hand corner.
There were further injury concerns on the stroke of half-time, with Sam Carter being taken to hospital with suspected concussion.
Six minutes into the second half, Whitton levelled the scores from the penalty spot but Town regained the lead in the 62nd minute, Kieran Bruce being brought down in the box and Prudence converting the penalty.
Yet another penalty was awarded with one minute to go from which the visitors levelled the scores. The Pedlars were unlucky not to hold on, having played the more attractive football but being unable to threaten the goal.
On Saturday the Pedlars are in Norfolk Senior Cup action as in-form First Division North side Downham Market visit Shoemakers Lane for a promising derby.
The Reserves suffered a 4-1 defeat away to Buxton in the Cyril Ballyn Cup, Blake Stangroome bagging the m consolation goal from the penalty spot. On Saturday they return to league action away to early pacesetters Loddon United.
The young Pedlars notched up another three points in midweek, Will Butters, Callum Hughes, Jack Royal and Scott Moore on target in an impressive 4-1 victory. This week they are on the road to the FDC Field of Dreams to do battle with CSF Canaries.
